In a controversy involving bribes for positions, TCS has terminated the employment of 16 employees and dismissed three others from their resource management roles, as reported in BENGALURU.
In addition, TCS announced in a statement to the stock exchange that six different vendor entities have been prohibited from engaging in any form of commerce with the company.
TCS had begun an investigation following a violation of the company’s code of conduct on the part of a number of its employees as well as vendors providing contractors.
Some of its employees accepted bribes from staffing firms in exchange for hiring those firms’ candidates for contract work.
According to the company, “…this does not involve any fraud by or against the company and there is no financial impact; the issue relates to breach of company’s code of conduct by certain employees and vendors supplying contractors; no key managerial person of the company has been found to be involved,” in spite of the allegations.
